MMS ScienceCon

The MMS ScienceCon is a student conference for all students of human medicine, dentistry, epidemiology and public health. ScienceCon takes place every year in June at the BMC of LMU Munich and is also open to students from other universities.

Students from medical faculties across Bavaria and beyond are invited to submit an abstract to participate in Munich’s first science conference for medical students. This conference is an excellent opportunity to practice presenting your research and data, even if you are just starting your project.

Research projects should be conducted under the supervision of a faculty member or a professional in the field. The conference aims to familiarize students at all stages of their studies with the processes and academic requirements of presenting research scientifically.

In case the abstract submission form below is not working (or not visible at all) please send us your abstract by email: forschungsmodul-medizin@med.lmu.de

All students at Bavarian medical schools may submit an abstract for this conference to present their work either as a poster or as part of a presentation. The deadline for abstract submissions in 2026 is May 3.

Registration is also required if you simply wish to attend without presenting anything yourself (so that we can order sufficient catering).

Please provide your name, field of study, semester, and university, and, if you are submitting an abstract, indicate whether it is for a poster or a presentation.
The text of the abstract should not exceed 350 words (references are not required).

Please submit your abstract in Word format, in English, using the Arial font in size 11. The abstract should be informative and, using these headings, include a description of the OBJECTIVE, the METHODS, a summary of the RESULTS, and the CONCLUSION.
The abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings. Your presentation may differ from your original abstract if your results change between the time of abstract submission and the day of the presentation.

If you submit an abstract for a poster, you are always guaranteed a spot. Since we have a limited number of slots available for oral presentations, we will contact you approximately one week after the deadline to let you know if you have been selected. If you are not selected, you may alternatively create a poster if you wish.
